What a great Summer the ALT Academy had. We were packed with several theatre and dance camps plus auditions for company classes and our first show choir! Thank you to all our amazing Camp Directors, Counselors, Guest Judges and ALT Staff for making our summer a success!

Registration for Fall classes began on August 14thand classes started on August 28! If you have not yet registered, what are you waiting for? There are just a few spots left in some classes so be sure to check out our class schedules on our Academy Website and call the ALT Box Office to register. Registration will run through September 9

On August 24th, we celebrated the Academy turning 25 with a Birthday Bash/Open House event and what fun we had! It was great to hug returning students and welcome the new faces joining our Academy. Families were able to meet instructors, ask questions, get information about Season Tickets and so much more. At this event, we also announced two major things going on in the Academy.

First, we announced the launch of the Academy's $25 for 25 Campaign. This campaign is designed to help honor the last 25 years of our Academy as well as pave the way for the next 25 years! Essentially, we are hoping to get 1,000 people by the end of the Season to donate $25 in honor of the Academy turning 25. Patrons can of course donate more than $25, but every donation of $25 or more will get an exclusive Academy pin to proudly wear. Fans of the Academy can also make donations in honor of past students, instructors, or shows. We will have a list online of donors as well as a lobby display at all three Academy shows. There are three easy ways you can give – Online by clicking the 25 for 25 Campaign logo on the Academy homepage of the website, by mail sending to “ALT”s 25 for 25 Campaign” 2019 Civic Circle, Amarillo, Tx 79109, or by calling the ALT Box Office at 355-9991 and making a donation! I hope you will think about making a small gift to make a big impact for the Academy!

The second announcement was the much anticipated reveal of the 2017-18 Academy Season! I am so excited for this season as it has something for each of our Academy students. Our season includes the following shows: Seussical, The Musical, October 27-November 5, 2017; Mr. Popper's Penguins, January 5-7, 2018 and Annie, March 23-31, 2018. 

I know you are probably thinking how much fun it would be to be cast in any of these great shows! Even though many of you might be too old to audition, you can still be a part of our Academy! We would love to “cast” you as an Academy Sponsor! Sponsorships for Academy productions start at $100 and each level has great perks all while being tax deductible. With the big season we have planned, we certainly are looking for all the help we can get to bring the magic of theatre to our stage! Well, as you can see the Academy is already gearing up for another great year! From classes to auditions, we certainly will be will be busy!
