A great American classic!

Amarillo Little Theatre is proud to present The Glass Menagerie as its third Mainstage production of the 2014-15 season.

Few plays have explored the byways of the human heart as poignantly and poetically as Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie. Amanda is a Southern belle, abandoned wife and dominating mother, living with two grown children. Amanda dreams of a better life for her painfully shy and crippled daughter, Laura, who evades her mother's schemes and reality by retreating to a world of make-believe. Tom, her son and sole support for the family, wrestles with his desire for adventure and a life outside the confines of their small apartment in St. Louis. Amanda pushes Tom to find a “gentleman caller” for Laura, however, his arrival sends shockwaves through the family and causes cracks to form in the delicate fantasies that have kept them each going.

ALT has cast a remarkable ensemble of actors for this production. The cast includes Lynae Latham Jacob as Amanda Wingfield, Ryan Sustaita as Tom Wingfield, Anna McVey as Laura Wingfield, and Christopher Ratliff as Jim O’Connor. Artistic Director for the production is Stephen Crandall, Assistant Professor of Theatre at WTAMU. Assistant to the Director is Katie Ratliff.
