FROM THE DIRECTOR
ALT’s Love, Loss and What I Wore closed its spectacular run on Sunday afternoon with its 8th sold out performance!! What a great way to start our 85th Anniversary season. I want to give one more thank you to director Jeff Jarnagin and his cast for creating such a moving and inspiring production.
I also want to extend another thank you to Laura Street, Angela Knapp and all the great staff of the Laura Bush Institute for Women’s Health for their collaboration on our special “Little Black Dress” event. It was a real honor to work with such a fine organization.
Les Miserables is gaining steam and will soon be barreling toward its opening of September 20. We are six weeks into the rehearsal process with three more weeks to go. I knew this show was going to be huge and it is not disappointing. One of the things that is beginning to get our attention is use of every bit of available space backstage. In addition to the 35 cast members, we have enormous sets, over 125 costumes and lots of props and furniture. We are going to have to move many things, including our orchestra pit covers, to our Adventure Space.
The box office for Les Miserables opens to our season ticket holders on Tuesday, September 4. We expect tickets to go quickly. Plan to make your reservations as soon as you can.
It’s an exciting time at ALT! I think this will be one of our best seasons ever.
I look forward to seeing you at the theatre(s).
