The Foreigner

Rated - PG-13

What our patrons are saying about "The Foreigner"...

What a grand evening!  The cast and crew did a terrific job. Business going on all over the stage.  This is a production you should see at least twice just to capture the business on stage. Dakota is a gem.  I quite agree that he is destined to shine on any stage.  It would be nice if we could keep him...maybe chained in the flies?  What a resource WTAMU is!!

Kudos to the entire cast and crew.  Funny funny show.  We had a friend attending tonight who needed some laughter in her life and this production supplied that in spades.

"I laughed start to finish at one comic surprise after another." —The New Yorker.

Amarillo Little Theatre is pleased to present the delightful comedy, The Foreigner as the third Mainstage production of the 2015-16 Season!

Winner of two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production, The Foreigner is an hilarious romp that is sure to have ALT audiences laughing with joy.

The scene is a fishing lodge in rural Georgia often visited by "Froggy" LeSeuer, a British demolition expert who occasionally runs training sessions at a nearby army base. This time "Froggy" has brought along a friend, a pathologically shy young man named Charlie who is overcome with fear at the thought of making conversation with strang- ers. So "Froggy," before departing, tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone the fun really begins, as Charlie overhears more than he should. That fuels the nonstop hilarity of the play and sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously awry for the "bad guys," and the "good guys" emerge triumphant.

Directed by Andrew Barratt Lewis of WTAMU, the show features a talented ensemble including Michael Newman, Dakota Brown, Debbie Perry, Patrick Burns, Reilly Downes, Chuck Jones and Zach Howell. Assistant Directors are Laura Jo Worsham and Ian Avila.
