The Amarillo Little Theatre was delighted to present From ALT to NYC: An Evening with Tevae Shoels on June 12 at the Allen Shankles Mainstage.

This special one-night-only concert celebrated Tevae Shoels, a proud ALT Academy alum whose journey began on our stage and has carried him all the way to Broadway. Many in our audience will remember Tevae from memorable ALT performances, including Chad in High School Musical, Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and Seaweed in Hairspray. After graduating from the ALT Academy in 2017, he continued his artistic training and performance career, building an impressive résumé on stages across the country.

Tevae is now based in New York City, where he serves as the Genie, Babkak, and Sultan standby in Aladdin on Broadway. His recent credits also include RENT, Disney’s The Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond, Whiskeyland, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. A graduate of Baylor University with a degree in Vocal Performance, Tevae is also committed to new work development and has served as Music Assistant on an Off-Broadway-bound workshop featuring John Legend, Lynn Nottage and Liesl Tommy.

Throughout the evening, Tevae shared music from the remarkable path that has taken him from ALT to New York City, blending songs from the stages that have shaped his career. The concert will also feature performances by ALT’s talented Academy Show Stoppers show choir, along with a few special guest appearances.

This was an unforgettable evening of artistry, celebration and homegrown talent. We were especially grateful to Reed Beverage for sponsoring the Reed Beverage open bar.
