Amarillo Little Theatre is rooted in reflecting the Amarillo community through art and authentic storytelling. We recognize that in order to do that, it’s imperative that everyone regardless of ethnicity, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability/disability, religion or socioeconomic status, is represented by our productions. Driving Miss Daisy explores the unlikely friendship between a rich, sharp-tongued Jewish widow and her African-American chauffeur in the Deep South just prior to the start of the Civil Rights movement. A thoughtful and quiet Black man, Hoke is immediately treated with disdain by Miss Daisy. Unimpressed by his employer’s patronizing tone and her latent prejudice, the two slowly build a friendship that ends up lasting 25 years. Despite their many differences, the dignified and good-natured Hoke slowly and steadily breaks down Daisy’s stern defenses as she teaches him to read and write. In a gesture of good will and shared concern, she invites him to join her at a banquet in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Winner of the 1988 Pulitzer Prize for Drama!

To honor the 25th Anniversary of 9/11, ALT presents Come From Away, based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover. 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001. Despite culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander comforted the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family. Don’t miss this critically acclaimed show that spreads the message of kindness, unity and resilience.

Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors is a brand-new comedy you can really sink your teeth into. Filled with clever wordplay and anything-goes pop culture references, it’s a 90-minute, laugh-out-loud reimagining of the gothic classic, perfect for audiences of all blood types. In the treacherous mountains of Transylvania, a meek English real estate agent takes a harrowing journey to meet a new and mysterious client. As famed vampire hunter Jean Van Helsing chases Drac from Transylvania to the British countryside to London and back, their antics are guaranteed to increase your pulse and cause bloodcurdling screams—of laughter.

Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander. With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and the perennial title song, White Christmas is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight audiences of all ages.

Adapted for the stage by the Queen of Crime herself, Agatha Christie, this famous murder mystery masterfully weaves a shocking tale of suspense. A mysterious host who knows everyone’s secrets lures ten strangers to a secluded island. One by one, guests start to disappear, eerily mirroring the deaths in an old 1600s nursery rhyme displayed in the house. With no way to escape the killer among them, tensions rise as they try to find the murderer before NONE are left to tell the tale.
