ALT is the place to be! Both our staff and volunteers are dedicated to making the thrilling shows we produce and the classes we offer accessible to the entire Texas Panhandle and surrounding area. As such, ALT has instituted a number of outreach projects designed to better serve our community.

ALT’s Academy program, in collaboration with Amarillo Independent School District, provides special school-time performances of its work making it possible for over 5,000 area students to attend a theatre performance each year. How cool is that? The Academy also has a scholarship program which assists underprivileged students with tuition costs for the Academy. We have never turned a student away due to an inability to pay.

ALT has offered multiple opportunities for under-served community programs to view live theatre in the settings in which we create them with our “Give Back” performances of select productions throughout the year.

ALT proudly produces a season of electric, moving, and crowd-pleasing shows that feature and celebrate diversity in their casting and storytelling. We also created a Diversity and Inclusion Committee in order to seek guidance from community members of all races and backgrounds as we plan our season. It is important to us to offer numerous opportunities for persons of all ethnic groups, sexual orientations, and social backgrounds to become involved with the theatre, so that we can better represent every member of our community.
