The Drowning Girls

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

August 14 – 24, 2025

This stage adaptation of the celebrated novel explores the brutality of life in a mental institution with humor, candor and unforgettable characters. After being convicted of a petty crime, a charming, rebellious rogue named McMurray contrives to serve his short sentence in an airy mental institution rather than in a prison. This, he soon learns, was a mistake. He immediately clashes with the authoritarian head nurse, Nurse Ratched. Despite Ratched’s strict reign, McMurphy quickly takes over the yard, staging a revolt so that they can see the World Series on television, arranging a midnight party with liquor and women. But McMurphy’s brash insubordination has its consequences. The Broadway revival in 2002 earned the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play, and we’re sure ALT audiences will go “cuckoo” for the first show of our 98th Season!

Jersey Boys

February 12 – March 1, 2026

Jersey Boys illustrates how a ragtag group of guys from New Jersey — and their decades-long friendship — became music history. 33 Variations

Silent Sky

April 9 – 19, 2026

When Henrietta Leavitt begins work at the Harvard Observatory in the early 1900s, she isn’t allowed to touch a telescope or express an original idea. Instead she joins a group of women “computers” charting the stars for a renowned astronomer who has no time for women’s probing theories. In her free time, Henrietta attempts to measure the light and distance of stars but must balance her dedication to science with family obligations and the possibility of love. This true story explores women’s place in science when their ideas were dismissed until men claimed credit for them. Henrietta Leavitt and her female peers believed in both social and scientific progress, and their dedication changed the way we understand both the heavens and Earth.
