Looking for something a little different to kick off your holiday season? The Amarillo Little Theatre Academy and Sparkman Orthodontics are excited to bring the irreverent but well-meaning first-grader, Junie B., to the stage. The Junie B., First Grader series, by Barbara Park, has delighted generations of readers, and this quirky adaptation by Allison Gregory is sure to leave audiences of all ages in stitches (and humming a tune on their way out).
Mr. Scary’s first-grade classroom is a respectful, educational environment for students from all walks of life. Just don’t sit Junie B. next to tattle-tale May and everyone will get along just fine. When it’s time for a Secret Santa gift exchange and Junie is tasked with a gift for Meanie May, will she use it as an opportunity to teach her a lesson, or will the giving spirit of Christmas prevail?
Junie B… featured 30 Academy students and was directed by Academy Director Harrison Stringer. Academy Students Tres Norris and Victoria Huseman served as Assistant Director and Production Assistant, respectively. This school full of memorable characters was brought to life by Costumer Kim Shreffler, and the Scenic Design by ALT Technical Director Noah Lang placed the audience right inside Room One.
