Allen contributed to the theatre community in Amarillo in more ways than one. He was a Theatre Peer Review Panelist for the Texas Commission of the Arts, the board of Texas Nonprofit Theatres, and the American Association of Community Theatres. He was deeply revered by the theatre community, having been inducted into the Branding Iron Theatre’s “Hall of Fame” and was honored as Amarillo Globe-News’ “Man of the Year” in 2016.
Outside of his commitment to the ALT family, Allen had a very fulfilling personal life. He was married to his wife, Carrie, and had two extraordinary daughters, Jordan and Alexa. Later on, Allen and Carrie became grandparents to Reno, his grandson.
