The Amarillo Little Theatre is thrilled to have presented the new musical Waitress as the first Mainstage production of the 2024/25 season. Brought to life on Broadway by a groundbreaking all-female creative team, Waitress features the infectious melodies and poignant lyrics of Grammy winner Sara Bareilles and a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson. Nominated for four Tony Awards (including Best Musical) and cherished by audiences and critics alike, this delicious musical offers a special recipe for finding happiness in unexpected places.
ALT assembled a brilliant and fun cast for this production. Principal roles include Hanna Green as Jenna, Kayla Fuller as Becky, Gracie Hurt as Dawn, Joseph Ward as Dr. Pomatter, Harrison Stringer as Ogie, Robert Hansen as Joe, Hugh Fristoe as Cal, Chris Gandy as Earl and Kimberly Pride as Nurse Norma. The talented ensemble included Nels Bjork, Heather Dillon, Jax Ebert, Joshua Gibson-Roark, Lynaé Jacob, ShyAnne McDonald, Leighson Selman, Annika Spalding and Conner Unwin. Backstage vocalists included Sarah Dunn, Bobby McCauley, Jonathan Mobley and Kiara Tennille.
Artistic Director for this production was Jason Crespin with Music Direction by Jennifer Akins and Choreography by Beth Alexander. Deanna Hurt served as Assistant Director with Colton Harada as the Production Assistant, Nicholas Shaffer as Assistant Music Director, Cinda Alexander as Assistant Choreographer, Kota McDaniel as Stage Manager and Annika Spalding as Dance Captain.
